SPLWC CHAMPIONSHIP ANNOUNCED
Tuesday, August 6, 2019
Irvine, CA - The Southern Pacific LWC board has announced the 2019 LWC Championship hosted at a neutral site in Irvine, California. This Championship Meet will take place Saturday, November 2, 2019 and is looking to crown the top athletes in our Southern Pacific LWC.
LWC President Chris Amenta said Monday, “We are very excited to host the first SPLWC Championship event in years. This meet is the first step to begin a long road of changes our LWC needs to take to be a dominating and positive force for USAW and our sport. With 1559 members [the third largest LWC behind Florida Weightlifting Federation and Pacific Weightlifting Association], and 71 Clubs, our LWC has the potential to be a massive resource of national and international athletes for USAW. The board and I are committed to making changes and fostering growth for grassroots and national/international level Olympic Weightlifting development. Thank you for supporting this meet and we look forward to bringing our LWC together for a high-level competition in November!”
This meet will be a last chance qualifier for AO Finals and will be a great opportunity for athletes to set records for our LWC. It will be hosted at the Eureka Hub 1621 Alton Parkway, Irvine, CA.
Participants must be members of an SPLWC club to set records. Registration is now available at the SPLWC website and at USAW’s site here. Please note you must be a USAW registered athlete to see the event in the Webpoint system.
